NYC ACRE Intensive Executive Program - "Transitioning to Cleantech Ventures"

Address the cleantech human capital bottleneck

Companies, investors and government agencies alike consider that the need for leadership talent in the burgeoning cleantech industry is a key bottleneck for the growth of new ventures in this sector, especially in New York City. To address this well-recognized need for cleantech entrepreneurs and early-stage C level executives, this program is being offered to select individuals with the potential to be high-impact players in this space.

Transition strong executives to the cleantech industry

To help fuel the successful growth of the local cleantech industry, this program selects strong executives with exceptional operational skills, and catalyzes their transition into leadership positions within early-stage companies. It rapidly equips them with industry-specific strategic, managerial and operational knowledge, skills, and best practices which allow them, in turn, to accelerate the expansion of start-up cleantech companies in New York.

Build on local strengths and opportunities

The program emphasizes specific cleantech industry segments where participants can leverage the exceptional features of New York City and State; technologies that capitalize on the needs of large, dense, urban environments. Program participants will build or join businesses in NY with potential to grow into global entities by capitalizing on the unique market context here. The program will also provide extensive networking opportunities for participants with the venture and business communities, as well as with NYSERDA and the NYCEDC.

Leverage and catalyze the local cleantech community

The program provides participants with networking opportunities that catalyze their career transition, their projects, and the local cleantech community. The program also includes participants in an alumni group that helps to track and support their careers and their companies.

Transfer solid knowledge

This knowledge transfer program is based on months of curriculum research & development conducted at NYU-Poly and NYU, numerous sources and input from industry experts and thought leaders, benchmarking with the best initiatives worldwide, and support of a growing number of powerful regional, national and international stakeholders.
